Tiara or Headband?

Tiara
Tiaras offer the most impressive effect for your wedding. They are the finishing touch for any style of bridal gown. Tiaras can be worn with or without a veil. A tiara is usually an incomplete circular band which is decorated. A tiara is usually worn towards the front of the hairline. Tiaras can be secured by pins at the sides, I make the tiaras with loops at each end to which I attach a removable chain so that the tiara can be slightly tightened to ensure it is firm. Pins can be put through the loops and also on the chain. If you are wearing a veil, this can be attached behind the tiara.

Circlet
A circlet used to be the name for a crown with no inner cap but now it is used to describe a tiara worn low on the
forehead. This style was used in the Lord of the Rings trilogy.

Headband
A headband is worn like a traditional Alice band and is a perfect choice for brides who want to wear their hair down as it holds your hair back. Headbands are also ideal for bridesmaids. If you have young bridesmaids and are worried about the headband staying on I can add loops to the ends of the headband and some elastic can then be added to keep it in place!

Bun-wrap and Hair Vines
A bun-wrap is a small tiara which is worn around an up-do, such as a bun! Your bun-wrap will fit round your bun or chignon. If you are wearing a veil this is normally fixed under the bun or chignon.

Crown
A crown was the traditional headdress worn by a monarch. A crown is worn towards the centre of your head. Basically a small tiara but made with a full circular band. Some brides wear a crown slightly to the side so it is up to you! The crown is secured with pins.

Comb
A comb is a simple piece that can be worn with almost any hairstyle but looks great tucked down the edge of a French pleat. A comb will look less formal than a tiara and can be ideal for your bridesmaids.

Hairpins and grips
Hairpins and grips are very versatile. They can be dotted through your hair and look great with or without a tiara. Tip: if you are having a hair trial, ask your hairdresser whether they would prefer working with grips or pins!

Hope this has helped and not created any insecurities!!! When all said and done, wear what you feel comfortable in. Most of my clients have chosen a tiara because they liked it or had one designed based on a theme. Your wedding day is a day to express your style - GO FOR IT!
